Coding Courses in Lebanon: Which One Should You Take First?
More people in Lebanon are learning digital skills to find work, freelance for clients abroad or run their own online business. The problem is not finding a course. It is knowing which course to start with. Web development, WordPress, Shopify, databases, Excel: they all sound useful, and picking the wrong one first can cost you months.
This guide helps you choose based on your goal, and explains what each course at the SHADES Training Center covers and costs.
Start With Your Goal
Before you compare courses, answer one question: what do you want to be able to do when you finish?
- Get a job or freelance as a developer: start with the Web Development course.
- Build websites for clients quickly: start with the WordPress course.
- Sell your own products online: start with the Shopify course (or WordPress if you prefer WooCommerce).
- Work with data or build business systems: start with MySQL.
- Get better at your office job: start with Excel.
- Manage customers and sales in a company: take a CRM course.
The Courses, One by One
Web Development: for future developers
This is the course for people who want to understand how websites are actually built and work on real code. It goes from beginner to advanced with hands-on projects, and it is the strongest base if you want a career in development. $300 per course, certificate included.
WordPress: build sites without heavy coding
WordPress is one of the most widely used ways to build websites, and many small-business websites in Lebanon run on it. The course covers site-building fundamentals, how to use plugins and themes, and practical exercises. It is a good fit for freelancers and for business owners who want to manage their own site. $300 per course.
Shopify: for people who want to sell online
If your goal is an online store, this course walks you through setting up a store, the basics of customizing the theme, and practice on a real store. Before you choose Shopify, read our guide Does Shopify work in Lebanon?, which explains how payments work here. $300 per course.
MySQL: the skill behind every system
Almost every website, app and business system stores its data in a database. The MySQL course covers database fundamentals, writing queries and exercises with real data. It pairs well with web development and is useful for anyone working with business data. $300 per course.
CRM Systems and CRM Software: for sales and operations teams
We run two CRM courses. CRM Systems covers CRM concepts and setup, hands-on dashboard practice and the basics of designing workflows. CRM Software is software-specific training: setting up custom fields and the basics of reporting. Both are $300 per course and suit people who manage customers, leads or sales.
Excel: the fastest win for office work
Excel is used in almost every office. The course covers formulas and functions, the basics of data analysis and building dashboards. If you work in accounting, sales, HR or admin, this is often the course that pays off fastest. $200 per course.
Suggested Learning Paths
- Freelance web developer: Web Development → WordPress → MySQL.
- Online store owner: Shopify (or WordPress) → Excel for tracking sales and stock.
- Business systems / operations: Excel → MySQL → CRM Systems.
You do not need to take everything. One course, finished properly with real practice, is worth more than three started and dropped.
How the Courses Work
- Live or recorded: join a live group or follow a recorded, self-paced track.
- No experience needed: every course has a beginner-friendly track.
- Hands-on: lessons are built around real project work and real business scenarios.
- Certificate: every course includes a certificate of completion.
Prefer One-on-One, or Training for a Team?
One-on-one mentoring gives you personal guidance, flexible scheduling and project-based learning, which is useful if you already have a project in mind. Corporate and team training comes with a curriculum built for your team, on-site or remote, and starts with a skills assessment. Both are $300 per session.
What to Look for in Any Course
- Do you build real projects, or only watch lessons?
- Can you ask questions and get feedback on your work?
- Is there a beginner track if you are starting from zero?
- Is the price clear, with nothing hidden?
- Do you get a certificate when you finish?
